You probably aren’t surprised by this title. Nor will you be shocked to hear that powerful special interests and huge corporations are hard at work right now trying to further shape Michigan law in their favor—at the expense of your rights and your family's safety.

So here’s the big news you may not have heard. Today, we launched Protect MI Families to fight against this corporate overreach and exploitation.

Protect MI Families is a Michigan-based consumer advocacy organization dedicated to holding corporations accountable and protecting families from insurance companies, bad employers, and negligence from trusted institutions. We work across party lines to educate lawmakers, elevate real stories from Michigan families, and build a powerful coalition committed to fairness and accountability.

The special interest groups we face are spending millions to strip away the rights of Michigan consumers, workers, and patients under the guise of “fairness” and “balance.” But we know that predatory insurance practices, dangerous products, unfair working conditions, and carelessness in health care are most often the result of these coordinated efforts to squeeze consumers and make a profit at the expense of our livelihoods.

You and your family deserve to be more than a data point on a conglomerate’s income statement — and Protect MI Families is here to help level the playing field. In the coming weeks, we will share exclusive updates on the state of consumer protection in Michigan and information on how we can all fight back. Whether by standing up to the "delay, deny, and defend" tactics of greedy insurers, ensuring you aren’t taken advantage of by bad employers, or holding negligent institutions accountable, we need your help in fighting the powerful forces that continue to exploit Michiganders.
