We Need YOUR Help to Fight for Consumer Protections in Michigan

Over the last few weeks, we have been updating you on the latest for consumer protection in Michigan. We’ve urged you to tell your Senator to pass a Bad Faith Insurance Law. We’ve begun to attend local events, and we’ve made important partnerships with other organizations in this work. Now, we need your help to guide our movement as we head into the summer.

Our strategy is simple but powerful: we want to elevate the real-life stories of those who have been harmed by insurance companies acting in bad faith, government employees and agencies operating without accountability, employers who restrict benefits for injured workers, and other institutions and corporations that continue to exploit consumers.

Our team can’t accomplish these goals alone. We are up against well-funded opposition groups, and we need a powerful grassroots movement to fight back. So, we are asking you to take the Protect MI Families Advocates Survey to tell us how we can get you further involved to protect consumer rights and hold powerful corporations accountable.

That could mean you are interested in attending Protect MI Families town halls where elected officials get your direct feedback on their work for consumer protections. You may prefer online advocacy, such as sharing social media posts to signing online petitions. Or you have a personal story to tell—like an unfairly delayed or denied insurance claim—and you are willing to work directly with us to make sure lawmakers hear it. We want to know how YOU want to make your voice heard.
