We Are Working to Keep Kids Safe When Riding Bikes

July 27, 20261 min read

On Saturday, June 25th, Protect MI Families held our first Heads Up for Safety event to great success! We wanted to keep kids in Michigan safe when they are out on the road having fun on their bikes. With over 60 families showed up in the Trenton area to be given a custom-sized bike helmet, we showed up and made a real difference to keep families safe. We also offered stickers to decorate helmets, free ice cream, a chalk drawing station, and much more! I am thankful to our partners who helped us put this event together and keep kids in Michigan safe.

As part of the event, we passed out custom guides for helmet sizing and safety for families to take home, as we wanted to be sure parents could keep their kids safe long after the event. You can download your own copy of this guide here.

Below is the helmet sizing guide that we put together for kids and families to make sure they bike with a proper fitting helmet, as an ill-fitting helmet can be a real safety risk:

Below is our safety tips that we implore all bike riders, children and adults, to follow:

I hope to do more events like this one in the future, and hope to see you there!
