The Michigan Poverty Law Program Joins the Protect MI Families Coalition
Protect MI Families is excited to announce one of our very first coalition partners: the Michigan Poverty Law Program.
Launched as a program within Michigan Statewide Advocacy Services, the Michigan Poverty Law Program (MPLP) is dedicated to improving the health, safety, and economic security of low-income Michiganders and advancing racial justice across the state. By working with different organizations and policymakers, they create systemic change by advocating for impactful policy updates and uplifting Michigan's community of legal aid attorneys through education, training, and support services.
MPLP's legal aid attorney training network is extensive. Furthermore, they provide individuals seeking representation with the resources and organizations best suited for their needs. Their work extends into legislative advocacy, as they signed onto a letter with Protect MI Families opposing the predatory Michigan House Bills 5558-5569.
We look forward to working with such an impactful organization to advance consumer protections for families all across Michigan.
You can learn more about the MPLP on their website, Facebook, or Instagram.
